Veterinarians & Veterinary Technicians
VIVA is a centralized depository for veterinarians' and veterinary technicians' credentials and a source of verified data for Boards to learn about licensed veterinarians. The VIVA database includes licensure and disciplinary information as well as national veterinary examination scores.
VCET allows you to record all your continuing education (CE) course work in a centralized database. VCET provides an easy way for you to communicate your CE to your credentialing agencies. Also, agencies can retrieve your CE if they are authorized to do so through AAVSB. VCET is a free program to veterinary professionals and the AAVSB Member Organizations.
SPA is a new AAVSB service: Administration of online state and provincial jurisprudence examinations for AAVSB Member Boards.
These exams ensure veterinary and veterinary technician licensure applicants understand local statutes, rules, and regulations.
The Veterinary Technician National Examination (VTNE) is owned and administered by AAVSB. This computer-based examination is given during three windows each year. The VTNE is constantly updated, reviewed, and re-evaluated item by item so that it remains a valid tool useful in the evaluation of candidates for licensure.
RACE is a national clearinghouse for the approval of continuing education providers and their programs. All RACE-approved providers and programs are listed on this website. Providers voluntarily apply to the RACE program and agree to abide by the RACE Standards. AAVSB does not solicit participation in the RACE program.
PAVE was designed to evaluate the education equivalence of foreign veterinary graduates (graduates of non-accredited veterinary programs outside the US and Canada) on behalf of participating AAVSB Member Boards.
