AAVSB Annouces Changes to Board of Directors
Kansas City, MO (February 9, 2015) - The American Association of Veterinary State Boards (AAVSB) announced today that President-Elect Dr. Tom Kendall has resigned from the AAVSB Board of Directors for medical reasons. President Dr. John Lawrence has appointed Treasurer Dr. Frank Walker to the position of President-Elect and Dr. Mark Olson to the Treasurer position. Ms. Leslie Knachel, Executive Director of the Virginia Board of Veterinary Medicine, also joins the AAVSB Board of Directors in the position of Director. These three individuals will serve in these roles until the 2015 AAVSB Annual Meeting & Conference, September 17-19, where the Delegate Assembly will elect vacant positions.
"As we move forward, I am confident in Dr. Walker, Dr. Olson, and Ms. Knachel as they shift roles to fill the vacancies. The AAVSB Board of Directors continues to remain a team of supremely qualified regulators committed to overseeing the strategic vision of the Association," said Dr. Lawrence. "Dr. Kendall's contributions to the AAVSB over the years have been invaluable. We are grateful for his enthusiastic attitude and unwavering commitment to safe and effective veterinary regulation."
