The AAVSB Announces Manitoba as 61st Member Board
Kansas City, MO (December 27, 2016) - The American Association of Veterinary State Boards (AAVSB) is pleased to announce that the AAVSB
Board of Directors has approved the Manitoba Veterinary Medical Association's (MVMA) application to join the AAVSB as its 61st Member Board. Membership in the
AAVSB has increased by four jurisdictions in the last three years.
The AAVSB Bylaws states, "A Board shall mean the governmental agency empowered to credential and regulate the practice of veterinary medicine in
any of the States and Commonwealths of the United States, its territories, the District of Columbia, and insular possessions of the United States, individual
provinces of Canada, and additional comparative entities."
The mission of the MVMA states, "As trusted leaders and advocates for the betterment and protection of animals and people in Manitoba, we provide regulatory
governance and empower our members to champion the art and science of veterinary medicine."
The MVMA is legislated by the Province of Manitoba's Veterinary Medical Act.
