Verify Your Exam Eligibility

1 Task: Verify your VEER eligibility

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited veterinary school OR must be set to graduate from an accredited veterinary school within 8 months following the close of the NAVLE testing window.

2 Task: Submit your VEER documents

  • If a graduate of an accredited school, the AAVSB must receive a final copy of your transcript, sent directly from the school to the AAVSB.
  • If set to graduate from an accredited veterinary school, the AAVSB must receive a letter of academic standing, sent directly from the school to the AAVSB.
    • NOTE: Letter must include candidate’s anticipated graduation date. Official transcripts and/or letter of academic standing should be sent directly from the veterinary school to the AAVSB:

NAVLE Accommodation Requests reviewed by the ICVA

Students requesting accommodations due to a documented disability covered under the U.S. Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) or the Canadian Human Rights Act must submit a CA NAVLE Accommodations application to the ICVA. All supporting documentation from a healthcare practitioner (i.e. doctor or psychiatrist) must be included with the application.

3 Task: Understand international graduate eligibility

International Graduate Eligibility

  • Graduates of non AVMA accredited schools must have a certificate of completion from ECFVG or be enrolled and eligible in the PAVE program with a passing QSE score.
  • ECFVG candidates must also submit a final transcript and diploma, sent directly from the school to the AAVSB. A certified translation by a recognized translation service is required for documents in languages other than English.
    • NOTE: Current ECFVG candidates may NOT apply for NAVLE eligibility through California. Applicants who hold a certificate of completion from ECFVG are eligible.
