The AAVSB is seeking a Technical Support Associate to be responsible for supporting the activities of the American Association of Veterinary State Boards (AAVSB) and assisting the Office Manager and management staff with general administrative support. This professional administrative position is responsible for offering hands-on technical support to AAVSB Staff and troubleshoot computer problems, install, and update company software and hardware as needed, and interact with outside technology vendors.

A successful Technical Support Associate must have a thorough knowledge of computer software and hardware and a variety of internet applications, networks, and operating systems. This individual needs to have great troubleshooting abilities and attention to detail.

This full-time position works in the AAVSB office located in Overland Park, KS.

Compensation: $40,000 - $45,000

Responsibilities

  • Supports the AAVSB operations by maintaining office technology systems.

  • Set up workstations and computers with necessary devices, assists remote employees with workstation setups.

  • Check computer hardware to ensure functionality.

  • Monitors record keeping and ensures the security and confidentiality of cyber data.

  • Identify opportunities to train AAVSB Staff on technology needs including cyber security, application use, network privacy, and computer systems.

  • Monitory security and company compliance of requirements

  • Identify opportunities for technology improvements and implement new systems.

  • Anticipate and report the cost of replacing or updating computer items.

  • Provide orientation and guidance to AAVSB Staff on how to operate software and equipment.

  • Provides input to Office Manager on suggested computer systems and website enhancement.

  • Independently executes special projects that require a combined knowledge of administrative needs and technical operations.

  • Assists with the development of manuals and other formal statements of administration procedures and methods.

  • Performs duties as required based on the needs of the AAVSB and/or as assigned.

Qualifications

Knowledge of:

  • Proficient computer skills and in-depth knowledge of relevant software used by the AAVSB including Microsoft Office 365.

  • Data management processes.

  • Applicable laws, rules, regulations and/or policies and procedures governing the receipt and expenditure of funds for a 501(c)(3) organization.

Abilities:

Education and Experience:

  • RequiredBachelor’s degree or equivalent and at least 3 years providing IT support or equivalent work/educational experience

  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree and additional relevant experience in the field

Details:

Work is performed under the direction of the Office Manager.

Salary range: $40,000 - $45,000

The AAVSB is headquartered in Overland Park, Kansas (KC greater metropolitan area).
